Document Extraction lets you upload documents and have EstateMin suggest matter updates for people, assets, debts, and expenses. Suggestions are not applied automatically — you review each suggestion against the source document before adding it to the Estate Overview.
📂 How to extract information from documents
Go to the relevant matter in EstateMin.
Click Extract.
In the Extract from documents window, click Choose files or drag and drop files or folders into the upload area.
Supported files: PDF, PNG, JPG/JPEG.
File limit: up to 25 MB per file.
Batch limit: up to 50 supported documents at a time.
Click Extract from document(s).
⏳ Wait for Processing
EstateMin uploads the documents and starts extraction.
Check the Processing section while documents are being read.
When a document is ready, it appears under Needs Review.
🔍 How to Review Suggestions
Click Review beside a ready extraction.
Use the document viewer on the left to inspect the original document.
Review the extracted suggestions on the right.
Check each suggested person, asset, debt, or expense.
Use the source highlights to verify where EstateMin found the information.
If there are multiple documents are pages tab through them via the header
🔀 Choose Create or Update
If EstateMin suggests a possible match, confirm the correct existing record before reviewing changes.
If no existing record should be used, choose Create New.
✏️ Edit Suggested Details
Review the extracted field values.
Untick fields you do not want to apply.
Fill in any required missing fields.
Correct any values that need adjustment before applying.
To edit other available fields click Show all fields
For assets, debts, or expenses, check Attach source document to save the file to the created/updated estate item.
✅ Apply or Discard Suggestions
Click Create or Update to apply to the matter record.
Click Discard if the suggestion should not be used.
Repeat for each suggestion.
🏁 Finish the Document
When finished, click Finish document.
If there are remaining suggestions, choose whether to finish anyway or return later.
Finished documents move to the Archived section.
🗂️ Manage Extractions Archive
Use Archive to hide an extraction from active review while keeping its extracted data in the archive.
Use View from Archived to reopen a read-only extraction.
Use Delete to permanently remove stored extraction data.
Use Delete all in Archived only if you want to remove all archived extraction data for that matter.

EstateMin's extraction is designed to assist review, not replace it. Always verify extracted information against the source document before applying suggestions.
