How to Fill Court Forms with AI in EstateMin

Learn how EstateMin AI fills court forms from your matter, and how to review, finish, and complete each form in the form workspace.

In supported states, EstateMin AI fills in court forms for you using the information already on your matter. You review what was filled, complete the remaining fields in the form workspace, and save the finished PDF to Clio.

🚧 Beta: AI form filling is currently in beta and available in selected states. See Which States Are Court Forms Available For in EstateMin for the list. How much of each form EstateMin can fill varies by form, and we'll be improving how much of the forms can be filled over time. We'd love your feedback: use the chat bubble in EstateMin or email [email protected].

EstateMin AI can make mistakes. Check every AI-filled field before you click Complete.

📥 How to Start AI Form Filling

  1. Open the matter and click Forms in the left panel.

  2. Click the Form Library tab.

  3. Click Add next to the form you need.

  4. The button changes to Preparing while EstateMin AI fills the form. On the Matter Forms tab, the form shows a Preparing status with the note "This may take a few minutes. You can leave and return."

  5. When the form is ready, its status changes to Not started and the Filled column shows how much of the form has been filled.

While a form is preparing, you can click Remove in the Actions column to take it off the matter.

📝 How to Review and Complete a Form

  1. On the Matter Forms tab, click the form to open the form workspace.

  2. The form preview appears on the left and the Complete form panel appears on the right. The top of the panel shows the total number of fields, how many are AI-filled, how many are manually filled, how many still require input, and the percentage filled.

  3. Review the fields on the Fields tab. Fields are grouped into sections, and each section shows how many fields are filled and how many are left to fill.

    • AI-filled fields are highlighted in blue.

    • Fields you have filled are highlighted in green.

    • Required fields that still need input are shown in orange with a warning icon.

  4. Type a value into any empty field, or tick a checkbox field to change it from Not checked to Checked. Your entries appear on the form preview as you go, and clicking a field highlights where it sits on the form.

  5. Click Save draft to save your progress. Draft changes are not saved automatically, and Unsaved changes appears at the bottom of the panel until you save. Saving a draft moves the form to In progress.

  6. When you're finished, click Complete.

    • If any fields still need input, a Complete with unresolved fields? window shows how many fields are left and how much of the form is filled. Click Complete anyway to continue, or Cancel to go back. Blank fields may remain blank in the PDF uploaded to Clio.

  7. The completed PDF is uploaded to Clio and the form's status changes to Complete.

👁️ Changing the Workspace View

Use the buttons at the top right of the form workspace to change what you see:

  • Form shows the form preview only.

  • Split shows the form preview and the fields side by side.

  • Fields shows the field list only.

Use the arrows above the preview to move between pages, and the zoom controls to resize it. Click the download icon at the top right to download the form.

➕ How to Add a Field the Form Is Missing

If the form has an area to fill that doesn't appear in the Complete form panel, you can add a custom field.

  1. Click Add field.

  2. In the Create custom field window, enter a Field name.

  3. Choose a Field type: Text or Checkbox.

  4. Add a Description if you want to (optional).

  5. Click Create field.

  6. Drag the new field into position on the form preview and resize it to fit.

  7. Enter the value in the new field under Custom fields in the Complete form panel.

A custom field applies only to the form you added it to.

🕘 Viewing Form Activity

Click the Activity tab in the Complete form panel to see the form's history, such as how many fields EstateMin AI pre-filled and who opened the form.
