How to Filter and Export the Estate Overview
The Estate Overview in EstateMin displays all People, Assets, Debts, and Expenses for a matter. You can use filters to narrow down what is shown and section tabs to focus on a specific category. You can also export the overview data as a PDF or CSV.
Follow the steps below to filter, navigate, and export the Estate Overview.
🔍 How to Open the Overview Filters
- Open the matter and navigate to the Estate Overview tab.
- Click the filter icon
beside the Export button. - The Overview Filters panel will open on the right side of the screen.
- Use the Section dropdown to choose which section to filter: People, Assets, Debts, or Expenses.
Available filters vary by section:
People:
- Role
Assets:
- Category
- Probate status
- Beneficiary
- Form 706 Schedule
- Quickly view assets with missing valuations
- Value at death
- Current value
Debts:
- Category
- Form 706 Schedule
- Quickly view debts with missing amounts
- Owed at death
- Current owed
Expenses:
- Category
- Paid by
✅ How to Apply Filters
- In the Overview Filters panel, select the Section you want to filter.
- Choose values from the available filter dropdowns (e.g. set Paid by to Estate).
- Click Apply Filters to apply your selections.
- The panel will close and an Active filters bar will appear below the section tabs showing your applied filters.
- Multiple filters can be applied at once across tables
🗑️ How to Clear Filters
- To remove a single filter, click Clear beside the specific filter in the Active filters bar.
- To remove all filters at once, click Clear all next to the filter icon.
- To reset filters within the filter panel before applying, click Reset Section.
📋 How to Use Section Tabs
- Above the estate data, you will see section tabs: All, People, Assets, Debts, and Expenses.
- Click a tab to show only that section of the estate. The selected tab will be highlighted in blue.
- Multiple tables can be selected at once
- Click All to return to the full overview.
📤 How to Export the Estate Overview
- Click the Export button in the top-right corner of the Estate Overview.
- Choose an export format from the dropdown:
- PDF Summary — a condensed overview of the estate data
- PDF Full — a detailed report of all estate data
- CSV — a spreadsheet-compatible file for further analysis
3. The file will download to your computer.
💡 Tip: If you have filters or a section tab active when you export, the export will reflect the currently filtered view.
