What Is the Client Portal and Why You Received an Invitation
The EstateMin Client Portal is a secure, online workspace designed to help you share important information about the estate with your attorney. If you received an invitation email, it means your attorney has set up a portal for you to submit details about the estate's people, assets, debts, and expenses.
Coming across unfamiliar terms?
Look out for the ⓘ icon next to fields and categories throughout the portal. It provides a short explanation of what's needed.
🏠 Why Use the Portal?
- It keeps your information safe and organized in one place.
- Your attorney can review what you submit and add it to the official estate record.
- You can work at your own pace — complete sections whenever you are ready.
- You don't need to remember a password. Access is through a secure magic link sent to your email.
📝 What You'll Do
The portal walks you through six steps to gather the information your attorney needs:
- Get Started — An introduction to the portal.
- Estate Files - Upload key estate files like the Will or Death Certificate
- People of the Estate — Add people related to the estate.
- Assets of the Estate — List assets the decedent owned.
- Debts of the Estate — List debts the decedent owed.
- Expenses — Record expenses that you have paid related to the estate administration process.
Don't worry if you don't have all the details right away. Your attorney will help fill in any missing pieces.
✍️ Can I Update Estate Information?
- Yes. If you need to change or add information after you've submitted it, you can log back in to the Client Portal and update your entries at any time.
- Once you make a change, your attorney will be notified so they can review the update. You do not need to contact your firm separately to let them know, they will receive an automatic notification.
