After you have added all the information you have for a particular step, you can mark it as complete. This helps your attorney know that you have finished that section.
✅ How to Mark a Step Complete
Navigate to the step you have finished, such as People of the Estate.
Review the items you have added.
Click the Complete Step (or Next on the Get Started step) button at the bottom.
A confirmation dialog will appear asking you to confirm.
Confirm to mark the step as complete.
📌 After Completing a Step
The step button on the dashboard will show a green checkmark.
Your completion counter will update.
You can still add more items to a completed step.
Completing a step does not lock you out.
Your attorney can share documents with you after you have completed a step. When they do, the document row in Estate Files shows Needs review.
Your attorney can also add a questionnaire to your portal after you have completed other steps. If they do, a Questionnaire step appears and you will receive an email letting you know.
💡 If You Have Nothing to Add
If you have nothing to add for a particular step, you can open the step and click Complete Step right away.
There are two exceptions. Open these steps and look at them properly before completing.
Estate Files. Your attorney can share documents with you in this step. If a row is marked Needs review, open and view the file before completing. See How to View Files Your Attorney Has Shared With You.
Questionnaire. This step contains questions your attorney needs you to answer, so there is nothing to skip. Work through it and click Submit answers. See How to Complete Your Questionnaire in the Client Portal.
